Rental management guides — Kojew

Practical methods for managing rentals in Cameroon, locally or from abroad.

Track rent and identify arrears

For each lease, record the rental month, expected amount and each payment received. Compare balances before sending reminders. If FCFA 60,000 is due and FCFA 40,000 received, FCFA 20,000 remains outstanding. In Kojew, check rent schedules and pending declarations before reminding tenants.

Handle rent paid in advance

Separate the date money is received from the months it covers. FCFA 180,000 received in October can cover October through December at FCFA 60,000 per month. In Rent, select the month range, review the preview and confirm. Advance rent and a separate security deposit serve different purposes.

Move from Excel to software

Gather properties, tenant contacts, lease start dates and payment history. Check duplicates and totals. Kojew’s Excel import offers validation before confirmation for Cameroon organisations. Keep the original file and reconcile balances after import.

Manage rentals from abroad

Decide who can record payments and who can only view information. Reconcile declarations with evidence, centralise documents and regularly review cash flow. Kojew’s tenant portal and reports support this work while managers remain responsible for verification.
